Wikipedia Branding

I’ve designed logos, posters, and bumper stickers for the Wikimedia Foundation, which runs Wikipedia.

Think Free

I spearheaded an attempt to revitalize the Wikipedia Store, which had been neglected and was drawing little revenue. The Think Free campaign resulted.

Bumper Stickers

These bumper stickers display Wikipedia article excerpts. The stickers convey the feeling that Wikipedia’s huge store of information can change the way you see everything in the world, including everyday objects.

Clicking the images will take you to the Wikipedia store, where you can buy white versions of the stickers. Sales benefit the Wikimedia Foundation.

Logo

The original wikipedia logo is instantly recognizable, and will not be replaced. But it’s too detailed to print well on clothing.

The new logo is simple, vector-based, and easily colored. Like the original logo, it has an international flavor.

Here’s what the logo might look like on a hoodie:

A couple of months ago, I signed ownership of the logo to Wikimedia (Wikipedia’s parent foundation), though it hasn’t yet appeared in the Wikipedia store.
